mmmmmmm

This caters to the darker side of my imagination. I dont know if you have ever read JTHM (jonny the homicidal maniac) comic, *made by the guy who made invader zim* but this song sounds like something the should have been playing in the background while i was reading those. Nice eerie feel to this man, i thoroughly enjoyed this

Big fan! And I know plenty of friends who would stab me in the back if I didn't know the Invader Zim part. lol
I'm glad you enjoyed it; thank you so much for the score and review!

lol this was cool

were you guys playing the guitar parts?if so, bad ass on the heavy metal part, and also wonderful job on the power ballad. If you didnt play em...oh well, it was still pretty cool. Even cooler that you made it for you sisters.10/10 5/5

thebigtarget1 responds:

nope they were virtual instruments lol. Thanks for the review man! glad you liked it

I love the way this track starts out XD

What are you using to compose all of this? I can totally see this being played at raves. Super trippy stuff here XD I think Im hearing FL studio effect generators in there...just not sure XD anywho, I can get down to this!!

KayShot responds:

I Used Fl Stufio. Most of the effects were Fl generators.

Thanks Bro =]
I Hope To Play Some Raves!

Not smashin this or anything.

As a matter of fact, I think this piece has great potential. The reason I gave it a 7 ( and i think why others scored so low ) is that there is far too much empty space in the song and that the melody kinda just plays over and over. BUT, i.m.o.m that melody should be kept, and kept where it is in the song (if that makes any sense,) so that you can go back and fill in the blanks.

The new melodies need not be anything too fancy, (especially if you are actually playing and recording this which it sounds like you might be towards the end, if so don't try to play something faster than you're accustomed to ) but it must vary from section to section to avoid over repetition.

Now, instead of reading me talk of all that mess, to the song.
Aside from the above stated advice, (and please note, I merely mean to be constructive, i rather enjoy this piece) I like the tempo of this piece :) Love the contrast between the low and high notes. I can definitely see how this would be written on a rainy day, such an almost melancholic melody, but at the same time relaxing.

I think that people in this category of the audio portal are pretty picky about what they like and don't like, and vote accordingly. I try to vote based on the effort I feel I see portrayed. So, 3/5 for the relaxing but slightly empty melody and 7/10 on a song with great potential, and apparent heart and thought put into this.

Hope this was kinda helpful ^^;
keep at it!

Thank you for your critique, and also following through on what you promised in the forums. I've yet to feel confident enough to post any links there. But I appreciate the feedback. I can understand your thoughts on this, as I kinda had the same myself after listening to it a few times. My computer and keyboard don't cooperate well if at all, and I'm currently looking into options to fix that. Perhaps I can obtain a better keyboard this holiday season...
I plan to keep at it. And I hope you do too.

This track is pretty groovy!

To start this off, the track is pretty groovy!! I like the lightheartedness of the whole track and enjoyed the sounds you used, and the melodies you made with them! A couple of suggestions that will hopefully spring your sound along!
~first, would be to explore finding free samples on the internet (such as percussion instruments) and free vsti's
~the second, would be to really focus on mastering the track (i.e. EQ'ing or altering sound levels so that things aren't too loud where they don't need to be)

those are really the only suggestions i think you need :) everything else is great! You get the idea of composing the tracks and mixing them, now all you need to do is clean up the sounds a bit and the tracks will sound crisper and crisper every time!

5/5 9/10(the 9 because you just need to work on the sound levels)

great track!

Thanks for the awesome review man! Im glad you liked it! very well put together

Gotta give it up

This was just one hell of a fun track to listen to XD Pretty inspirational and uplifting in the melodies. The transitions are smooth as hell, and everything overall just flows so smooth. I love the buildups in here, and especially how they mellow back out, just to jump into another buildup XD FREAKING AWESOME SONG!

Thanks man! I'm really glad you liked it!

Yea

im just gonna go ahead and drop of there here 5 vote for ya and kick back to this track a few times XD (personally, i would have used a deeper kick for this since it is the hip-hop genre, and when i think of hip-hop i think sub-rockin bass kicks that make my car shake XD but thats just imo XD still a sweet freaking track my friend!!)

~Twisted!

S3C responds:

thanks :P There's actually a deep sub bassline in this track, so I had to carve the kick into a higher frequency range. In the bridge section of the track however there is a trunk-rattling 808 kick ;)

thanks for the reviews man, i appreciate it!

you know...

I remember a time when you did 99.99% classical musics. Now I find this account, and hear this simply astounding stuff in the techno/trance genre!!!! MAN WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN?!?!?

I have so lost my touch :*(

pretty sick loop here bro XD

~Twisted!

S3C responds:

ha you havent missed much, but thanks alot!

you probably havent lost your touch all that much. In fact, a long break (assuming you didnt have time to make musics) is sometimes just what an audio artist needs to be reinvigorated and create music that they enjoy. something i've learned these past months is that good music comes from having the gratitude to get such an opportunity to do so- something that you may not have (I certainly dont have as much time as I used to)if you are too busy with life's troubles and whatnot.

thanks again for the review :)

Man, All I am seeing when i listen

is this really dark movie sequence in a video game. Not quite silent hill, but definitely along those lines of genre! Cameras panning all around the main character in the rain, darkness all around him, as he comes across some horrible plot altering news...leaving him confused and almost feeling completely defeated.

great stuff man, love the imagery!

5/5!

~Twisted!

S3C responds:

thanks Tim, good story!

Maaaaannn

I still to this day envy your sound bank my friend. I had to reformat my computer and start everything from scratch. Lost ALL my percussion and orchestral instruments, not to mention all my synths :( a

Anyway, on to the relative part of the review.

definitely like the filtering you got going on with the arp/gates at 2:10 that was the hotness right there. I love the psy/trance feel of the whole thing!! now it looks like im gonna be the one asking for tips on this genre XD

The transitions are pretty smooth, and i absolutely LOVE how you still incorperate the oriental instruments in the background, and keep them in the scale normally used in Japanese music. I was sad when this song was over :'(

Still to this day i remain a big fan of your work XD (i just havent had much time to write any reviews at all ): )
5/5!!

~Twisted!

S3C responds:

that seriously sucks! if you need some sounds hit me up. for whatever reason I cant logon to MSN anymore unless its through the web :( but otherwise just download more stuff, start from the ground up and your stuff will sound different (in a good way) from before.

anways thanks for dropping by and leaving a nice review. Glad you still like my stuff! I was trying to venture into different styles- not sure if i'm interested in FL Studio that much anymore :|
